Gränichen/Switzerland, 24 September 2018 – The Board of Directors of the Zehnder Group (SIX: ZEHN), a leading international provider of complete solutions for a healthy indoor climate, has appointed Matthias Huenerwadel as the new CEO. He will join the company on 12 November 2018 and will succeed Hans-Peter Zehnder as of 1 January 2019. Hans-Peter Zehnder, who has been acting as interim CEO alongside his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors since February 2018, will then return to focusing on the role of Chairman.
Matthias Huenerwadel, who is 50 years old and from Switzerland, will bring excellent leadership skills and industry experience to the Group Executive Committee of the Zehnder Group. His most recent position was at Forbo International SA, an international Swiss producer of floor coverings, building and construction adhesives, as well as power transmission and conveyor belt solutions. As a member of the Forbo Executive Board, he was in charge of the Movement Systems division from October 2005 to December 2012 and the Flooring Systems division from January 2013 to December 2017. Matthias Huenerwadel graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich with a degree in Industrial Engineering and is married with two daughters.

The Board of Directors of the Zehnder Group will also be proposing Daniel Frutig (1962, Swiss) for election to the Board at the Annual General Meeting in March 2019. From 2011 to 2014, he was CEO of the Arbonia Group which is based in Arbon (Switzerland). He then went on to serve as CEO of Medela, the international medical technology group based in Zug (Switzerland), from 2015 to 2017. Since then he has been concentrating on his roles on the Boards of Directors of the Starrag Group, the Swiss milling machine manufacturer, and Eugster/Frismag AG, an international Swiss manufacturer of domestic appliances. Daniel Frutig is set to bring his in-depth industry knowledge to the Zehnder Group as of 2019.
